Christmas Taiwanese Pizza Night at Maeli Market

December at Maeli Market smelled like fresh dough, melty cheese, and popcorn chicken — which could only mean one thing: Christmas Taiwanese Pizza Night was back.

We hosted two cozy pizza nights this month, and watching families cook side by side was honestly the best part. Seeing everyone roll dough with flour on their hands, shaping Christmas trees and candy canes, brought so much joy to the space.

Each family made holiday-shaped mini pizzas, piling on Taiwanese favorites like crispy popcorn chicken, braised pork (Lou Rou Fan), broccoli, and lots of cheese.

Beyond the classic tomato sauce, participants had fun getting creative with pizza bases like Garlic Butter Paste, seaweed, and Taiwanese BBQ sauce — a very Taiwanese twist.

On top of that, we served warm, creamy corn chowder, because December nights are cold and everyone deserves something cozy while waiting for their pizzas to bake 🌽💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made these nights feel so warm and joyful. It wasn’t just about pizza — it was about slowing down and sharing simple holiday cheer.

This hands-on workshop was co-hosted with Thermomix Instructor Susan, who guided everyone step by step — from rolling and shaping the dough, to decorating, baking, and finally packing the pizzas to take home.
