At Maeli Market, we embraced the season with our delightful đ¸ăSpring Feastă Taiwanese Burritos Night & Tea Houseđ¸ on March 28, 2025. It was a warm, festive evening filled with delicious food, vibrant traditions, and fantastic company.
Sip & Savor: Premium Oolong Tea Experience.
We began our evening with an exquisite tea-tasting experience guided by Regina from Chimney & Tea. Regina shared her expertise, introducing us to premium Taiwanese Oolong teas. Her passion and personal stories about her journey as a tea entrepreneurârooted in her family's tea-farming heritageâmade the tasting truly special. Guests savored the aromatic fragrance and rich, delicate flavors by using a tea tasting wheel, guests noted their sensory experiences across multiple steepingâs, adding depth to the tasting. The teas paired beautifully with Taiwanese pineapple cakes and savory snacks.
A Taste of Taiwan: Taiwanese Burritos Workshop đŻ
Next, our partner Susan from Thermomix led an fun and interactive hands-on workshop, teaching everyone how to create colorful Taiwanese burritos (popiah ć˝¤é¤ ) from scratch. Participants enthusiastically crafted their burritos with fresh ingredients, including shredded carrots, Chinese celery, shredded egg, dried bean curd, bean sprouts, and a generous sprinkle of crushed peanut powderâa must-have ingredient for authentic taste! It was delightful watching everyone's creativity and joy in assembling and tasting this beloved Taiwanese dish.
