🐢 Custard Turtle Pineapple Buns Workshop Recap at Maeli Market

This September, Maeli Market hosted two joyful sessions of our Custard Turtle Pineapple Buns Workshop, bringing together baking lovers to create one of Taiwan’s most beloved pastries — the crispy pineapple bun (菠蘿包) — with a fun, creative twist!

 

In collaboration with talented baking instructor Gloria from @baobaobakery, participants enjoyed a hands-on experience learning how to make the perfect golden crust custard pineapple bun with matcha flavor.

 

During the workshop, guests decorated their crispy matcha pineapple buns — each stuffed with mochi, coconut custard, and red beans — and transformed them into adorable turtle-shaped buns. The room was filled with the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread and the excitement of creativity at work.

 

More than just a baking class, this workshop was about laughter, festive spirit, and sweet memories shared together. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity shine — every turtle bun had its own personality and charm!
